FM3/FM9/AXE-FX III Patch based on Soldano SLO-100
The Soldano SLO-100 remains one of the most respected tube amps ever made, combining boutique craftsmanship with legendary tone. Whether you're into metal, rock, blues, or even fusion, the SLO delivers power, nuance, and the classic Soldano sound.
The Soldano Super Lead Overdrive 100, widely known as the SLO-100, stands as a landmark in the evolution of high-gain guitar amplification. Introduced in the late 1980s by Seattle-based designer Mike Soldano, the SLO-100 wasn’t just another amp on the market—it was a bold reimagining of what a high-powered tube amplifier could sound and feel like.
This masterpiece defined the modern high-gain tone in the late 80s and 90s and it has been requently cloned, copied, or used as a base for boutique amp builds. Guitarists often describe the feel of playing through it as immediate and responsive—notes seem to leap off the fretboard, with a smooth, violin-like sustain that made it particularly beloved by lead players. Some of the stars who played with the SLO-100 were Eddie Van Halen (used it before launching his own 5150 line), George Lynch, Eric Clapton, Mark Knopfler, Warren DeMartini, Steve Lukather, Tom Morello and Matt Bellamy.
