FM3/FM9/AXE-FX III patch based on Splawn Quick
Rod amplifier

The Splawn Quick Rod is a boutique, hand-built amplifier from Splawn Amplification, based in Dallas, North Carolina. Designed to deliver the quintessential "hot-rodded" British tones, the Quick Rod offers a versatile platform for guitarists seeking both vintage and modern high-gain sounds.

The original wattage is 100 watts, but switchable to 50 watts via half-power mode. The power section is fed by 4x EL34 tubes while the preamp is 3x 12AX7 tubes.

The Quick Rod is celebrated for its tight low-end, pronounced midrange, and articulate high-end response. Its overdrive channel provides a range of tones, from classic rock crunch to modern high-gain saturation, making it suitable for various genres, including hard rock and metal. The clean channel offers a robust and dynamic platform, capable of delivering pristine cleans or a slight breakup when pushed. With its multiple gain stages and gear selections, the Quick Rod allows guitarists to tailor their sound precisely. The inclusion of a solo boost and a high-quality effects loop further enhances its adaptability for live performances and studio settings.

The Splawn Quick Rod has been in production since the early 2000s and continues to be a flagship model for Splawn Amplification. Over the years, it has undergone various updates, including the addition of the "gears" feature and other tonal refinements. As of the latest information, the Quick Rod remains available for purchase directly from Splawn Amplification at https://splawnguitars.com/.

Our patch does its best to do justice to this jewel: the patch is built around the modded
hot-rod Marshall tone and plays great at classic rock. With our Gymtar patch you'll be able to blast with a very bright and loud music. All this is great for your '80s metal but we also
recommend the joy of using this amp to play a clean.
